6 days. To be honest, I dun like alot of places I go in Taipei so i cant remember...to me Taipei is just like another Singapore but with Chio Bus per square feet. I like HK more for its vibrant city life IF you do like city holiday destinations. But get out of Taipei, that would be nice. You are going with how many people? If it is not too tight, I suggest at least a one day trip to Hua Lien. Go in the morning, come back at night. Really nice place. I can intro a taxi driver, Mr Lu, to you who for around NT$2800 per car can bring you around Taroko Gorge and Xiao Qing Sui and Da QIng Sui in Hua Lien.

as with most taiwanese, their English is not say very good lah, basic one still ok but its best if communication is mainly done in Mandarin.

(Take Taroko Tilting Train 太 to Hualien and Mr Lu will meet u there. Buy 2 ways train ticket which is 0710hrs or earlier as it'll take 2.5~3hrs journey, book 1~2days in advance or on the day you arrive. Ticket for both ways cost NT802. If sometime the return timing from Hualien to Taipei when you bought is not good, Mr Lu can try to help you get a better timing when u reach Hua Lien. He is very friendly and knowledgeable about the places, I really enjoy it especially the Water Curtain Cave which was a very good 1 hour stroll before you get to the place...really worth it...)- But in Taroko gorge, be prepared to walk! A really nice place...to take in the sights , nature and sceneries..
hokkien good not? not really the same as taiwanese but understandable.
seriously, i dun know his standard of English....so i cant comment on that, but probably should know basic since he takes a lot of tourists... it will be good if you can understand mandarin though u cant converse well in it.
ah ya, their hokkien is pretty understandable to me too haha
