free and easy...
On your second day of your stay, buy the MTR 3-Day Pass. HKD220 with HKD50 refundable deposit. Gives you unlimited rides on MTR (except First Class, Light Rail and Shenzhen stations). All the end stations got shopping and food also. Better than Causeway Bay. And easy to find toilet also. When coming back, the card gives you 1 ride on the Airport Express. You can check-in your bags at Kowloon or Hong Kong station, depending which one is nearer to your hotel.
If you have travel agent transport, buy 3 1-day passes. HKD55 for 24 hours starting from your first journey.
The 3-day pass works like an EZ-Link card. Top up HKD50 inside first in case you want to experience their buses or tram. I suggest you try the bus, then you realise how far back we are here in Singapore. If you want to tour their towns, take the green minibus. Do not take red minibus, the drivers will rip you off cause you're not local.
1-day pass is like our old farecard. If you want to take other transport, pay cash. Just tong inside the box.

@_@...
will buy, will buy...
but wats the difference between red and green mini bus?
Red minibus is driver-owned. Money goes direct to driver. Driver chooses the fare he wants to collect. Routes they can go anywhere. Bus has no numbers most of the time. Think of it as a public taxi.
Green minibus is owned by a company. Fares will go to the company. Drivers cant cheat you. Bus can only ply "official" routes with proper numbers.
I go sleep liao. Any questions just post first. I'll try to reply them tomorrow morning.
