friends who jsut came back says they are different now. they will speak to you in Cantonese and if they sense you don't undestand, they will quick speaks to you in Mandarin and in English if you asked in English.
Haven't been to HK now eversince there is a direct flight to China.. But good is good

u mean the local residents or the customer service staffs?
maybe now economy is bad, pple dun travel much, so they very cherish when got tourists visit their country mah.
becos b4 i went to HK, i always thot tht is a really great country, haha, one of my dream countries, but after i went there, thn i think so-so only, becos i set a high expectation liao.
but the pple there really leave a bad impression, other than tht, still ok.

according to my friend, the sales staff and the hawkers at Temple St are all OK. gone were the days they scold you if you set a too low price or asked without buying.
HK ppl are very fast pace and enterpruner
