SINGAPORE: More customers of a travel agency have come forward on Tuesday after learning that it is under investigation for cheating its customers. Ten people told Channel NewsAsia that they fear they have been cheated.
Customers had turned up at Fly International Travel, located at People's Park Shopping Centre, only to find that the company had abruptly closed on Monday.
Some said airline companies are not accepting their air tickets, on grounds that they are fake. Besides ticketing and visas, the agency also provides work permit application services.
One customer said she had put down a S$3,000 deposit with the agency and is now worried that she would not be able to get it back.
Some customers have made police reports and intend to file cases at the Small Claims Tribunal.
The owner of the travel agency, who is from Shannxi, China, cannot be reached.

Durai was prosecuted.
This PRC at present is still far from the long arms of the law.
A smart criminal is one that commits a crime and gets away with it.
Actually there wasn't anything wrong with what Durai did, he was the CEO, he decided to pay himself a huge amount of salary with donations from kind hearted individuals, alot like our government. What happened was when his abuse of funds was exposed, there was a public outcry, the government seeking to quell it, prosecuted him with "other" inconsistencies in his management.
Seriously, did he do anything wrong, I guess not, but what he did was against common moral.
wa ha ha, there will be more cases to come, thank you Pay and Pay.
Maybe they should have enacted some rules regarding setting up of businesses by foreigners. Providing guarantors if foreigners decide to set up business, in the event that the foreigners abscond with the deposit, there is still somebody left to pay the dues.
