Going to Taiwan soon..any recommendations?

  Hi I will be headed to taiwan soon...should be spending most of the time in or around Taipei city.

   

  Any recommendations for good food, shopping and sightseeing? Or what to avoid?

  Shilin and Ximending is a standard ...
  Sports apparrel and shoes more commonly found at this night market near this MRT Station called Gongguan Be sure to bargain with them. I think there's spa and etc at Danshui. Their MRT is really cheap, and their cabs and plenty and affordable if u have a big budget.
  
  If u are a Gundam fan, there is Gundam Base Taipei at K-mall, near their Railway Station.

  im staying in a hotel in ximending...i think...or should I say motel...haha...U$20 a night....

   

  what are the souvenirs or presents that i can buy for family and friends?
