Reading my friend's blog about the trip is making me laugh.....
Indeed indeed.
All the cultural shocks and intermashing city with relics all over and the inherent "bochapness" of the people there is so funny when you read it at home.
It wasn't when we were trying to converse with the bus driver who insisted on talking in bahasa melayu!!!

I know nuts about the language. Some words here and there that's all. I'd die in Malaysia if I don't meet Chinese. -

Most probably.But we also had the "kindly ketok us" look whenever we had to converse with people like that.
Like the time I ordered roti chennai (prata in m'sia).
Me: dua er....(points to egg) roti chennai.
Him: (gives the wtf look).
Me: (fark the egg lar) dua kosong.
Him: Satu satu?
me: (wtf, 1 + 1 = 2?) ok.
Later the roti chennai came.
1 plate with 1 kosong and curry, the other plate also 1 kosong and 1 curry!
