  i need help.
  
  im baking cookies right now..
  
  2 batches le.. all turned out very soft. If i try to take out one piece, it will break into 2.
  
  i duno why..
  
  and the third batch i tried using a higher temperature and longer baking time...
  
  turned out slightly burnt, yet still soft...
  
  wat went wrong? i followed the recipe closely leh..

  I noticed you used light brown sugar. Hmmm which kind of light brown sugar did you use?
  
  The recipe calls for "dark brown sugar, firmly packed", means the kind that's daaaaaaark brown with molasses in it, and when you measure it, you really have to press it down hard, like you're trying to fit a large amount of sugar into a small cup.
  
  The only time my cookies turned out too soft was when I reduced the granulated sugar by half (hahahahaha).
  
  Sugar plays a part in how crispy your cookies will turn out...

  You know hor... I've been guarding the recipe for nearly ten years...
  
  And it's really a special recipe.. because this is the one I used when I baked for someone really special...
  
  edit: and then hor, the reason I'm putting it up now is because... I think somebody hexed me.

  juz a simple recipe printed on one of the ingredients' box.
  
  anyway im done with the cookies..
  
  v jialat.. threw away more than 10 pieces.
  
  the rest ar.. v sweet..
  
  can eat, but not nice to look at.
  
  i'll try kiseki's recipe next time.

  it's my first time baking cookies, so i duno wat's too wet, too dry etc.
  
  mooku asked me to put the mixture inside the fridge then try baking again..
  
  i tried, and it got worse. haha.
