Hi everyone, im sharing my secret of how to get into a tops JC after your O'Level.
Firstly, don't go into pure science stream or take too many subjects. Take an easy course like combined science and the minimum number of subjects maybe can add one more if you feel daring.
Why? The reason is very simple...L1R5 is calculated the same no matter you be hero or cowardly. So I took only 7 subjects and my L1R5 got 6 points...then minus minus until become zero.
Okay don't forget to thank me when you get into good JC!!
u get into top jc with combined science and no amaths might as well dun go jc.
why?
1.) you cant take h2 maths
2.) you can only take one h2 science
3.) therefore you cannot go science stream
4.) certain schools, like my former sch, sji offer amaths and pure science to everyone. no dropping of the sciences.
more subjects better. for me, i canot take chinese as l1r5(c6) if you have more subjects you can have a wider safety net. for me i took 7 subjects and i regretted not takin more(didnt work hard in s2 streaming). i had 11 points, btw.
i've got a friend, she is in a somewhat top jc now.
she got 7 points. through what subjects?
english
combined sci
e maths
poa
chinese
combined humans
cannot do science course. so she is stuck in doing some crap course( geog, chem, econs and lit or maths h1 im nt sure)and she doesnt liek it.
so moral of the story? take more subjects. widen the scope of the subjects you can take in jc. after all, its not the jc you are in that determines your a level.
