It is so far, so good for Eduardo at Arsenal but the Croatian striker is fully aware that even the best take time to adapt to English football.
The 24-year-old has looked highly impressive since signing from Dinamo Zagreb on July 3. In pre-season he has demonstrated his pace, technique and, against Lazio last Friday, an eye for goal.
However the serious football starts on Sunday when Arsenal kick-off their Premiership campaign against Fulham at Emirates Stadium. With Emmanuel Adebayor unlikely to be fit, Eduardo may figure however the player himself knows the hard work lies ahead.
“I have been here one month everything is getting better and better with Arsenal,” he told Arsenal.com.
“To be honest, it is not easy. But even for the best player in the world it is not easy in England. Take Andrei Shevchenko at Chelsea as an example. For me he is one of the best strikers in the world but when he was first in England he found the adaptation hard. Now it is better and better for him.
“I know I have to adapt yet but I just want to work and work. I will speak with players and ask them questions - what is this? how is this?
“If I give 100 per cent then the goals will come. I just want to satisfy the Club and the fans. Everything is new but I am happy.”
