Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes his fledgling side can continue to progress and claim silverware next season. The Gunners blooded a number of youngsters last term, including the likes of Abou Diaby and Denilson as Wenger looked to the future.
The fresh faces finished empty handed in the 2006/07 campaign, although they produced a number of thrilling displays - including a 6-3 Carling Cup win at Liverpool.
Wenger believes their transition season will stand them in good stead and that they will be ready to challenge the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea for the title.
"I am even more determined because we had a little bit of a season where I felt I was not happy with it," he told the Daily Star. "It was a transition season.
"We had big injuries and everybody understands as well that, when you move to a new stadium, it's very difficult to do that and win straight away.
"But the positive side is the hunger in the team is strong, my hunger is stronger than ever and the talent and the potential of the team is very high. That's why I'm so determined.
"I am so keen to come back and go for everything we can go for. The young players have been just fantastic. They can achieve what they want and desire.
"I am 100 per cent behind this team and I believe they can deliver next season."
