FK Haugesund have told Arsenal they will not let teenage defender Havard Nordveit leave unless the deal suits all parties. The Gunners failed with a bid for the highly-rated defender after Arsene Wenger flew to Norway on Sunday in an attempt to bring Nordveit to Emirates Stadium.
The 16-year-old subsequently complained that Haugesund's asking price was 'supernaturally high', with Nordveit apparently keen to make the move to London.
However, following reports that Arsenal have tabled another bid for the talented teen, Haugesund director Nils Halvor Berge has reiterated the club will not let Nordveit go on the cheap, and that they are keen to retain his services until November.
"We would like to keep Havard until the end of the season, but Arsenal wants him immediately," Halvor Berge told Nettavisen.
"We are hoping to reach a happy solution which benefits the club.
"Not just Arsenal and the player should be pleased with the transfer."
Arsenal reportedly offered £1.8million for the defender and, whilst Haugesund hold out for more money, Nordveit's agent remains confident that his client is closing in on a dream move to the Premiership.
"They (Haugesund) will have to think about the offer for a few days," agent Jim Solbakken told Haugesunds Avis.
"I'm sure the offer will go through, but the club has to decide"
Berge has also confirmed that the club have informed other top European sides of Arsenal's interest in the defender.
