Pipping Chelsea for the title has given Manchester United a psychological advantage going into Saturday’s FA Cup Final, according to Arsène Wenger.
The Arsenal manager also believes the desire to achieve the ‘double’ could help push Sir Alex Ferguson’s side to victory at Wembley. However Wenger describes Chelsea’s side as full of “mature men” with a winning mentality.
“I think Man United has a psychological advantage,” said the Frenchman just before Arsenal finished their Premiership programme. “They are on a high and can make a ‘double’. Usually that drives you through a little bit. Chelsea will have the idea of revenge to show how strong they are. What will take over I don’t know.
“But I was twice in a situation where we could make a ‘double’. Both times I felt we did not have an outstanding game but the fact that we were on a winning stream just pushed us through. We had not a doubt we would win it. You just win because you feel you are in the winner’s position.
“I feel that psychologically it is an advantage to have won the title. But Chelsea are a team of mature men. You take Terry, Makelele, Lampard, Drogba and Essien, they are winners so I think they can cope with that. I think it will be interesting to see what takes over there.”
dun tink it will be exciting at all cos season over so tis one is jz consolation...
