Middlesbrough are being linked with a move for Czech goalkeeper Martin Lejsal.
A goalkeeper is not believed to be top of even high on Gareth Soutgate's list of transfer targets - but Boro are understood to be keeping a close eye on Lejsal.
Youth team graduates Brad Jones and Ross Turnbull are the current cover for number one Mark Schwarzer and their lack of experience could be a worry for Southgate,
Lejsal, who served a six-month suspension in 2005 following a match fixing scandal at one of his former clubs Venezia.
The 24-year-old is now back in Czech Republic with FC Brno and is performing well, which has led to interest from a number of European clubs.
It is claimed Boro could open talks with a view to a move in January, but with their current Premiership predicament - the Teesside club are likely to have other targets before turning their full attention to Lejsal.
