  i've decided to use hideout to store my school notes and to share to people as well

  now no mood to contribute cause headache... but will start adding History first cause i'm starting to fail it so far...

  i got 3/13 for it. i wrote plenty of points but all irrelavant

  this will be partnered along with the " help the king with his homework " thread

  people can contribute too.

  i don't want go Homework forum cause I wan boost this forum rating as well

  Question Type: Usefulness of Source

  Examples of Question:

  How useful is the source in helping you to understand...? Explain your answer.

  To what extent is the source useful in...? Explain your answer.

  ANSWER the question!

  • The Source is very useful...
  • The Source is not very useful...
  • The Source is useful to a large/certain/small extent...

  Explain content usefullness & limitations.

  • Describe information provided in the source
  • Explain the content/hidden message.
  • If it's a cartoon, describe & explain the characters, words, symbols etc.
  • Does it help us to make conclusions eg. Who is to be blamed?
  • Does the source provide you with a complete picture?
  • Explain the limitations of the source.

  NO SOURCE IS USELESS

  Cross-reference to check for reliability

  • Use another source to support your answer.
  • A source that is supported by another source is more reliable and hence, more useful.
  • A source that is contradicted by another source, is less reliable and hence, less useful.

  Use Provenance to detect biasness & propaganda/hidden motive

  • Examine the author/date/source origin and determine if the source is biased or not?
  • If source is not biased, examine if there is enchanced reliability.
  • Eg. Source that is balanced in view or is willing to criticised his/her own country or fellowman may be enhanced reliability.
  • Examine whether source contains propaganda/hidden motive to influence audience of a certain view.
  • A biased source that contains a propaganda/hidden motive is less reliable and hence, less useful.

  Conclusion

  • A reasonable conclusion

   

  Highest level is usually explanation of source reliability using Cross-reference and explanation of tone & purpose.

  teach you how to write purpose.

  The purpose of this source, is to tell  - who? eg: people of the world- , that -for eg: President Bush is acting all he can to fight terroism - and it -what action does it want to be taken eg:  wants leaders of the world, to join forces to fight terroism.
