ROBERTO MANCINI is set for a summer clear-out if he can keep hold of his job as Manchester City boss.
Mario Balotelli, Carlos Tevez, Edin Dzeko, Nigel de Jong and Kolo Toure will all be heading for the exit if Manchester City find buyers at the right price.
On-loan players like Emmanuel Adebayor, Wayne Bridge and Roque Santa Cruz will also go to raise funds for the fresh blood Mancini believes he needs to turn City into title winners.
Arsenal’s Robin van Persie is his No1 target with Lille’s Eden Hazard and Napoli’s Edinson Cavani and Ezequiel Lavezzi on his hit-list.
City’s title challenge has faltered badly but there will be no knee-jerk reaction from the club’s Abu Dhabi hierarchy over the managerial position.
The team’s performance will be reviewed at the end of the season and the signs are that finishing runners-up with more than 80 points would be enough to convince them Mancini is the man to take the club forward.

Roberto Mancini has decided to offload unhappy Manchester City winger Adam Johnson at the end of the season in a move that has sparked immediate interest from Sunderland.
The 24-year old, snapped up from Middlesbrough for £7million two years ago, has grown restless at a lack of starting opportunities and is ready for a fresh start.
Mancini is in no mood to stand in his way, after harbouring doubts over his attitude and willingness to accept defensive responsibility, and will listen to offers.

Manchester City are closing in on a £30million deal to sign Athletic Bilbao's Spain international striker Fernando Llorente.
Manager Roberto Mancini is ready to let Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund target Edin Dzeko leave the club, while the futures of fellow front men Carlos Tevez and Mario Balotelli hang in the balance.
As a result, Mancini is in the market for a striker and he has identified the 6ft 5in World Cup winner as his preferred choice. The Sun claim that the two clubs are deep into negotiations over a deal.
Despite a run to the Europa League semi-finals, which saw them knock out Manchester United, Bilbao are struggling in seventh place in La Liga and are looking to cash in on their prize assets.
