Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp has claimed Newcastle United striker Demba Ba's release clause is less than £7 million.
Ba, 26, has arguably been the signing of last summer after joining Newcastle on a free transfer from West Ham United and since scoring 15 goals in 19 Premier League matches.
The Senegal international's form has sparked rumours of interest in his signature, with Spurs boss Redknapp credited with being keen to bring him to White Hart Lane.
Magpies coach Alan Pardew would loathe to lose Ba, although it seems the forward's club could have little say over his future should a side match his reported release fee.
When asked about a £10 million release clause, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is quoted as saying in the Daily Mirror: "I think you will find it is a lot less than that."
And when pressed further on whether it is as little as £7 million, he replied: "Even less than that."
Spurs wants to buy almost every player.
