The left-back is set to become the English club's fifth major summer signing, leaving the Stade de Gerland after two seasons having joined from Porto in 2009
Lyon defender Aly Cissokho is reported to be on the verge of signing for English Premier League club Liverpool for a fee of €10 million.

The Anfield outfit have had a busy summer in the transfer window to date, but missed out on Gael Clichy, who admitted to turning them down to move to Manchester City.
Le Parisen reports that coach Kenny Dalglish and director of football Damien Comolli have turned their attentions to the Blois-born left-back, who impressed for his underperforming team in 2010-11.
The French media source indicate that a deal could be wrapped up as early as the end of the weekend, with the Merseyside outfit set to continue their big spending tactics.
Cissokho joined the Stade de Gerland team from Porto in 2009 for a fee of €15 million, but owner Jean-Michel Aulas is believed to be keen to bring in revenue and is willing to make a loss on the full-back.
He has made 60 appearances for the Ligue 1 side, and has earned one international cap for Laurent Blanc's Les Bleus team. -

Wah... with so much money thrown in, they must have a very good chance of winning the title also...
Now, the minimum they must get into the Champions League cos with Arsenal and Spurs not spending much and maybe also losing their star players... Pool must be very hot favourite to get no less than 4th place if not winning it...
It seems they are banking on getting into the CL next season for the extra revenue like Leeds once did...

L1 teams wont go over the mark of 5 million euros for 1 player, Considering he isn't expreienced in any other leagues yet, 10 mil is just overrated for him.
10 million for Aly Cissokho is just absurd and overrated. I personally feel he isn't worth that much.
I get the feeling that Liverpool is just buying blindly and at any random price.

Cattermole ready to quit Sunderland for Anfield after captaincy row
LIVERPOOL could be set to make a £10million move for Lee Cattermole with the Sunderland player devastated at losing the captaincy to new boy John OShea.
Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has handed his recent signing from Manchester United the armband, delivering a massive blow to the tenacious Cattermole.
And now the Merseysiders are keeping tabs as Kenny Dalglish continues his policy of signing top English players and the former Wigan midfielder, 23, could be next. There will be no lack of spice when Sunderland head to Anfield for the first match of the season on August 13. Bruce has signed three midfielders in Craig Gardner, David Vaughan and Seb Larsson plus young Irishman David Meyler meaning Cattermole may not even make the starting line-up.
He could also be reunited with old pal Jordan Henderson, who left Wearside to join the Reds last month.
Cattermole (right) found himself under fire last season because of his dire disciplinary record of TEN bookings and two sendings off including a dismissal in the opening game against Birmingham City. And, after this weeks tour of Germany, Bruce will announce OShea as his new skipper ahead of his fellow ex-United signing Wes Brown because of his superior fitness record.
Despite Sunderland bringing in no fewer than nine players in the close season, there could yet be more arrivals before the big kick-off. Heading for the exit will be right-back Marcos Angeleri, who is set to return home to Argentina.
Dalglish is also looking abroad for young talent and is poised to bid for young Swedish centre-half Alexander Milosevic rated at £1.5m by his club AIK Solna.
The Reds chief sent his top spies to check out the 19-year-old last week and have opened talks with his club about bringing him to Anfield.
Milosevic has played over a dozen times for AIK and the Kop want to snatch him now before ARSENAL and SUNDERLAND make their moves.

Not sure if B Jones is considered home grown or not, thought i read somewhere he is though... Anyway, Pool already have almost 8 if we exclude Jones... It seems Kenny is really desperate to get as many English players as he can...

Jack Robinson, Raheem Sterling, Conor Coady are the players worth to look at..probably will get their chance next season...the best one so far is Raheem Sterling...

Players 21 yrs old and under doesn't count in the make up of the 25 member squad... And Charlie Adam is Scottish, also don't count... El Zhar joint Pool at 19 yrs old so no chance. Ngog is already 22 when he completed his 3rd yr at Pool, so I doubt so too he is considered home grown...Of all the Pool youngsters, Jonjo Shelvey impress me the most... Kelly is pretty good too...
