SOCCER fans keen on catching the Champions League games at home in September will have to fork out more for a new sports package on SingTel's mio TV.
The telco giant has tweaked its pay-TV sports package to launch an all-in-one pack that bundles ESPN Star Sports, mio Stadium and Goal TV channels with broadcasts of the Champions League games.
Champions League broadcasts were previously offered free to subscribers who had signed up for mio's other soccer channels, but that offer has expired.
The new package is priced at $34.90. The Straits Times understands that this is up from previous sports packages, some of which cost $26.90, with the cost depending on the range of channels.
Those who sign up for the new package before Aug 11 will snag it at the early-bird offer of $29.90.
A spokesman for SingTel said the new package was a way of offering its customers more variety and choice. She noted that previously, mio offered a selection of channel options with differing price points, but now, the most popular channels have been bundled as one.
