Ashley Vickers — player-manager of Conference South side Dorchester Town — challenged this pitch invader in last night's 3-1 defeat to Havant and Waterlooville.
But instead of being praised for ending the prankster's run around Havant's Westleigh Park ground, he was SENT OFF by the referee.
Shocked Vickers told the Dorest Echo: "I'm dumbfounded and speechless.
"A guy ran on to the pitch without any of the stewards getting near him and I thought I was doing them a favour.
"My only thought was to get hold him so we could get on with the game.
Dorchester's players were stunned by the decision and confronted the ref in an ill-tempered match.
The score was 1-1 before the streaker ran on in the 70th minute.
However, the intruder's entrance and Vickers' red card totally changed the game.
Dorchester crumbled to a 3-1 defeat and ended the match with just EIGHT men after Jake Smeeton and Kyle Critchell saw red in added time.
