Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish has labelled Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere a 'cyber-bully' in response to the England international's comments in the aftermath of his side's Carling Cup triumph over the Gunners.
Blues captain Barry Ferguson patted Laurent Koscielny on the head when celebrating Obafemi Martins' last-minute winner which had come as a result of a blunder by the Frenchman.
After the game Wilshere tweeted with more than a hint of sarcasm: 'Well done to the BCFC player who slapped him on the head when they scored. Very big of you!'
But McLeish has bitten back in defence of his skipper, choosing to praise the ex-Scotland international for playing on for an hour despite breaking a rib.
McLeish said: 'It’s not my world, Twitter and all that stuff. Cyber-bullying is not for me. I don’t want to comment on it. It’s moved forward. Let’s draw a line under it.

'Ferguson played for an hour with a broken rib. It shows his pain threshold. It’s frightening, but it shows the character of the guy to do that.'
McLeish revealed that his own cup celebrations had been curbed by a mystery stomach bug that laid him low on the morning of the match. He has not even had a drink to toast his side’s memorable Wembley heroics.
McLeish said: 'The bevvy has had to go on hold. It got me on the morning of the game. I felt terrible but I knew it wasn’t nerves because I’ve been there before. It wasn’t something that was new to me.

'I felt really poorly – horrible. It’s stayed with me and I haven’t been right since.' The Brum boss also revealed that the door has not been closed on offering veteran midfielder Lee Bowyer a new deal at the club.
Wembley star Bowyer said after the game that as far as he was aware the club had would not be offering him anything and he would walk away a free agent in the summer. McLeish said: 'There are no doors closed on that yet.'
