Prize acquisition: Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich wants to add Brazilian superstar Kaka to his ranks
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is lining up a £25million summer move for Brazil star Kaka.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti is a huge admirer of the 28-year-old Real Madrid playmaker, having worked with him during a trophy-laden eight-year stint at AC Milan.
The champions’ vision is to play Kaka off new £50m signing Fernando Torres next season as Ancelotti, who took the Brazilian to Milan from Sao Paulo for £7.2m in 2003, looks to reinvigorate his ageing squad.
Chelsea believe his struggle with a long-term knee injury under Jose Mourinho’s regime at the Bernabeu this season means he can be captured for a relatively knock-down fee of £25m.
The wizard of dribble: Should Chelsea succeed in their bid, Kaka will play behind Fernando Torres
The former World Player of the Year left Milan for Madrid for £56m in June 2009, five months after Manchester City had tried to sign him in a deal worth more than £100m.
Abramovich gave the green light to a £75m spending spree last week with the capture of Torres from Liverpool and Brazil defender David Luiz from Benfica.
Further evidence of the Chelsea owner’s renewed financial commitment to the club came this week when Bayern Munich striker Mario Gomez claimed he had been the subject of a £35.7m bid from Stamford Bridge, before Torres’s capture was completed.
Defender Branislav Ivanovic has added to the feel-good factor in west London by signing a contract extension through to 2016.
25m is a tad too cheap for kaka. dun think RM wants to sell at that price. probably RM would consider if it is 35m onwards.
too old liao lah...........
no lah...28 ok lah still young...25mil cheap.just dun ask that ah neh blackie at black burnt to buy kaka
25m to 30m
real madrid will consider selling
Don't forget Kaka's $200,000 weekly salary whoever wants to buy him... So Real probably might seriously consider selling cos the guy hasn't been good ever since he sign for them and they still have to pay him big bucks weekly...
So a cut price might be good for them too as it takes away a huge sum in their wage area... $10m per season excluding bonus... And make way for... Fabregas?

his current form and injury prone recently meant not much clubs willing to spent on a 28 years old knowing at the end of next contract his is worthless.
if i were a club president, i'll never buy players older than 26..................no more resale value after contract finish..................
