Making his point: Mascherano criticised Liverpool for the way they handled the sale of Torres
Barcelona midfielder Javier Mascherano has criticised former club Liverpool for the way they handled his departure last summer and striker Fernando Torres' exit on Monday.
The Argentina international described as 'sad' the manner in which players had to leave a club they had served well.
Following Torres' £50million transfer to Chelsea on deadline day the Spaniard has been castigated for his comments suggesting he is much better off at Stamford Bridge than he was at Anfield.
'I was not surprised about what happened with Fernando,' Mascherano is quoted on espn.co.uk as telling a press conference today.
'When I left Liverpool, it looked as if I killed someone. It is sad that the people who did something important with the club have to leave by the back door.
'It is sad that the press and the club try to convince people that it is all the player's fault when the reality is that Liverpool didn't show the interest in keeping us in the club.
'The most important players didn't leave the club well. 'I spoke with Fernando and I said to him that he doesn't have to be worried because he did his best for the club.
Pastures new: Torres joined Chelsea on transfer deadline-day
'Even though he didn't win any trophies, he was a very important player and helped this club all the time.'
Mascherano's views are, however, slightly ironic considering he was offered a new contract by then Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez last April but stalled on signing it.
Four months later, after it became apparent he did not want to remain on Merseyside, he eventually secured a £22million move to Barcelona.
guy talking cock...
it was Torres who wanted out... the club let him go... like that also KPKB...
when Mascherano left, he wanted to go and threatened to go an strike, refusing to play???
he has no right to talk about transfers considering his disgraceful antics
he better farking shut e fark up.
not a kop liao still tok so much bullshit.
Kenny Dalglish says the timing of Fernando Torres' transfer request from Liverpool has left a bitter taste in the mouth but believes the club will live to forget the player.
Dalglish hinted that Torres' conduct left a lot to be desired but, ahead of Sunday's clash with Chelsea, he said the striker he was no longer important to Liverpool.
"Everybody was disappointed that he left the club," Dalglish said. "Most disappointing was the timing, but we move on. The football club will always be here, and no person is bigger than this football club.
"The club and the owners did everything we possibly could but it was not to be, so he moved on. He's playing for someone else now. The most important people are the people at this football club."
Asked how he will prepare to shackle Torres, Dalglish replied: "We'll just play against any player they put on the pitch. We're more important than any player they've got."

U FUCKER LAR...MASCH IS CORRECT..GO TO UR YMCA FORUM,ITS DEAD.GO REVIVE IT.
There is no correct or wrong.
Torres may go on strike or play half-heartedly if he continue to stay in Liverpool.
So, you never know what will happened if Torres was forced to stay behind.
As for the dog that have no life but like to barks at the Reds fan, he is just jealous.

frankly, when there's suarez, i feel that torres shld have just stayed behind.
but since he's gone, we'd just have to live with it.
STFU Mas
Go back West Ham lar
It is not about having a extra striker.
Suarez is not proven in BPL and there is no wizard in the midfield to provide him support.
He will have to wait for another season to gamble whether Liverpool can qualify for Champion League.
If he join Chelsea now, he can win the FA Cup, BPL medal and Champion League with HALF a season.
He will also be getting MORE pay.
So, it is a good bargain for him as he can contributed half the effort to the maximum benefit and he knows that he is not young any more and may get another relapse of groin injury.
Furthermore, he will not be playing every match and he can rest his leg for the coming Euro.

gerrard and mereiles can.
Liverpool is in the slow process of re-building to become a team under the leadership of Kenny.
The only thing I hope is that they can pick them up and qualify for Champion League next season.
This will convince Henry to get more players or Kenny can bring more youth players up to the senior squad.
Stevie and Jamie are growing old and more youth players need to come forward.
Torres is in same situation as Mickey Mouse when he left the Reds for Real Madrid.
No one believe Liverpool can make it when Mickey left.
But, the team stuck to the task and made miracle.
The only reward that the present team can repay themselves and the fans is to win the Europa Cup this season.
This squad of players deserved to fight for the medal as they have roughed it out over the toughest year in Liverpool history.
u call mcmanaman mickey mouse. Very good. ~Applause~
I am actually refering to the guy who sold his soul to the devil now.
Going in Fer Nando: Athletic Bilbao's Llorente (left) has been targeted by clubs across Spain and England
Fernando Llorente has claimed he was Liverpool top target to replace Fernando Torres and that his club Athletic Bilbao rejected a £30million Anfield approach.
Andy Carroll ended up filling the void left by Torres' £50million move to Chelsea, but only after Liverpool failed with a bold bid for Llorente, according to the 6ft 5in Spain frontrunner.
'Representatives from Liverpool arrived in Bilbao and had talks with the leadership of our club,' said the 25-year old, who has also been linked with Tottenham.
'But obviously the club did not want to sell me, so to talk about this any longer makes no sense.
Gotcha: Kenny Dalglish landed Andy Carroll in a deal worth more than £35m
'I understand the fans of Athletic, who don't like talk of clubs that are interested in me, but it shows that I'm doing my job well.
'At the moment, my football future is associated with Athletic. There are clubs prepared to pay (his buyout clause of) £30 million but that is what football is. It's mad.'

Figure out the words in the bracket and you should know the rest... If there is a top, then there will be a second... If still cannot understand, kindly proceed to the 2nd paragraph for a better picture...
No zocoss, there's a big difference between explicit and implicit. Hope you don't get too sensitive about this as I'm just speaking business, nothing personal.

There definitely is difference between explicit and implicit but I won't go to the extend of defining them in this case cos of how the paragraphs was constructed and the context of it... Do you see any quotation mark used in the thread title?
And it's alway has been business only and nothing personal here...
yeh we can all agree to disagree i'm sure. tks.
