Chelsea are reluctant to increase their €20 million offer for Benfica defender David Luiz.
It appears unlikely that highly rated defender David Luiz will leave Portuguese champions Benfica for Premier League giants Chelsea in the January transfer window as the Blues have made it clear that they're not offering more than €20 million for the centre back, according to a report in A Bola.

Chelsea recently made a €20m offer for the Brazil international, but Benfica were not impressed and rejected the bid, holding out for at least €25m.
Nevertheless, Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reluctant to splash the cash on David Luiz and has decided to stall negotiations for now.
Chelsea's main reason not to increase their offer for David Luiz is the fact that the defender won't be eligible to play in the Champions League following his involvement with Benfica.
The Champions League hopefuls are eager to add a new centre-back to their squad in the winter transfer window and manager Carlo Ancelotti has made the 23-year-old David Luiz his primary target on the transfer market.

But Record insists that what was initially reported as a €25m offer plus the services of Paulo Ferreira has now turned into demands of €30m and a handful of players. -
