Ivory Coast international Gervinho appears to be on his way out of Ligue 1 table toppers Lille after Premier League side Liverpool tabled a first offer for the tricky attacker, according to a report on Tuttomercatoweb.
The Reds have been in disappointing form in the 2010-11 campaign and manager Roy Hodgson is desperate to strengthen his attack in the winter transfer window. The former Fulham boss supposedly sees Gervinho as the perfect addition to his front line.
The report claims that Liverpool have made a €12.5 million offer for the 23-year-old attacker, but it remains to be see whether les Dogues are willing to part company with their star player for such a relatively low fee.
Gervinho started his professional career with Belgian side Beveren before moving to Le Mans in the summer of 2007. He joined Lille in 2009 and has since developed into a key player at the Europa League hopefuls.
The forward has also been linked with clubs such as CSKA Moscow, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur.
