Chelsea have put Luka Modric at the top of their shopping list at the end of the season, according to reports on Tuesday.
Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has reportedly identified the Croatia star as the man to revitalise his Chelsea team.
And the man who revealed Chelsea's interest is Dinamo Zagreb vice-president Zdravko Mamic - the same person who negotiated Modric's switch to Tottenham in 2008.
Mamic is believed to have met Ancelotti to discuss the deal.
He is reported to have said: "I was with Ancelotti for lunch. I was very proud when I heard what he said about Modric.
"Luka is top of his list, his first pick when it comes to new signings. I am not Modric's agent - I am just his friend - but I am very proud.
"I don't want to say anything more because I don't want to upset my friends at Tottenham."
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp will be desperate to hold on to one of his most prized assets who has been key in Spurs Champions League success.
something tells me this modric guy is very talented but he can get snuffed out of the ball rather easily by more robust players.
