Liverpool are lining up a shock January loan move for Manchester City's Emmanuel Adebayor, according to The Metro.
The forward, who has a rocky relationship with his current boss Roberto Mancini, joined the club for £25 million but has been told he can leave in January if the right offer comes in.
Juventus have also been rumoured to want Adebayor, but have not produced a concrete offer, meaning that a switch to Anfield could be a realistic possibility in the New Year.
The arrival of Mancini has seen a drop in appearances for the 26-year-old star, and led to rumours about his possible exit.
The Liverpool boss is known to be on the hunt for a striker as Roy Hodgson is set to pay some of his £35m transfer allowance on a big-name player.
The recent Carlos Tevez saga could impact City's decision on whether or not they let their striker leave the club, but Liverpool hold a strong position should the decision go their way in January.
Although it might sound ridiculous but i really do feel that this loan deal might work, just like how Anelka one almost did.
