If make whole team also the same old playing style.
Never improve.
Not that I see spore team no up.
It is really a useless team.
Getting worst and worst.
Better to ask the whole etoile fc to play for spore.
At least they can attack and defend.
ask poolman n steven.jialat to play for sg.or coach lions.they talk cock very good one.coach need to talk want.talk cock very big.
It's the same old story and the media or some other keyboard hero would probably said something like "If your comment on Singapore Football is so bad, assuming that you're so good, why not you represent Singapore instead?"
Bulls.
It's the same as S-League, the stupid tagline of "Top 10 league in Asia" is dumb. Besides Japan-League, Korea-League, Australian-League and probably Saudi Arabia League, the rest of the leagues in asia are just there to make up the number.
Enough of "we're improving because Indonesia Clubs are poaching our National Team players from local club. It shows that our players are capable of performing outside Singapore". What is there to show off about when it's not even J-League, K-League or even A-League?
No point sacking the coach, the management or even the players. It will be the same old story when S-League is still around.
Does it ever occur to the FAS that the golden period of Singapore Football was during the Malaysia Cup days? The fans were so proud supporting Singapore even though there were ups and downs because of the brand of football that they were playing.
Foreign talents were not a problem, we have Abbas Saad, Jang Jung, Michal Vana, Alistair Stewart, Warren Spink, Craig Foster.
Local Heroes were also born like Fandi, Kadir Yahya, David Lee, Malek Awab, Nasri Nasir, Terry Pathmanathan and of course, the Quah brothers.
Dont mention about Singapore's ranking in the world of football. It's a joke I must say.
I personally do not think the foreign talents are the problem although i feel that precious is not up to scratch and players like Egmar Goncalves and Mirko Grabovac are betrayers of the system.
But then again, I would say that most of these players, after obtaining Singapore citizenship, slack off and did not perform like how they used to when vying for a spot in this system. People like Shi Jiayi, Itimi Dickson, Agu Casmir, Precious, John Wilkinson, Mustafic Fahruddin all fall under radar and performed below par.
If Singapore were to improve, I would say that it has to start from basic. Pass, Move, Shoot. 3 simple steps but it's not easy to master.
I hope no offense is taken but Singaporeans are moved towards securing a qualification before they take any risks so that at least they have something to fall back on should their risk fail. Which is why I think the most practical approach is to target student who are not academically incline to do sports instead so that at least there's something they will be good at to earn a decent living.
Do not fall into the believe that the young lions of YOG will come good one day because I can safely assume that at least half of the squad will leave the sports to concentrate on their studies instead.
We need to produce more technically gifted players like ishak and amri, players who can defend like jantan and a coach who's not tactically naive like raddy........
and stop calling up old foreign talents, at least get them while they're young...What's the point of the ft scheme when the fts can only at most give their best for 2-3 years??
the deterioration of this team started at last AFF Suzuki cup.
the coach need to blood new players, but then no quality players unearthed. the only alternative is to unearth and identify expatriates to replace the ageing expatriates like daniel bennet, wilkinson and that 40 year old Duric. get rid of the agu casmir, he is useless.
Duric is actually quite good - He will probably be a powerhouse if 20 year younger.
Waiting for qiu li to come back from the five years thing, still cannot play for sg yet after fifa complain
Duric is good......................good for nothing...............
his only strength is he can strike the ball well with his right foot only..............but shooting not accurate........
he is now so slow and his turning is so slow...........i thought he's 60 years-old.............
most of his passing is also too weak to reach his team-mates................
no wonder he never stay in his home country............players like him must have come in the shiploads..........
The PAPist will just import eighty thousands more people for trials to join the national team, while they wait for their turn, all will be given work permits to look for jobs as the economy is good and employers are screaming for more workers, while the FAS does not have to spent a single cent. Win win situation.
Bro,ckeer very well said. those player you mention bring back my memories. yeah, 80s, 90s those were the years. even in the 90s when singaproe was relegated from the malaysia top division, i still go rain or shine to the nation al stadium to support our national team. doing the mexico waves. eating curry puff sitting on a wooden plank. take MRT to kallangMRT and walk past PA to the national stadium.
recently just drive past highway and saw the national all tear down except for one portion of the wall. damn sad. we might be building a state of the art stadium but our national team are not even near the standard of the old stadium.
RIP singapore national team!
we should all rejoice that S'pore is so lousy............since got so many foreign players........
i've been always hoping for S'pore to get whacked whenever they play..........i even support M'sia against S'pore.........
And the team spore still turning a deaf ear on the complaint.
Year in year out, same same playing style. Or rather no style at all.
Aimless, cannot run, cannot pass, cannot lop, what else?
Please dont bring in 10 chicken and expect the 10 chicken to run.
Bring in 10 ostrich! They will run for you.
