Spore team will not improve....they will be stagnant for a long long time.
They cannot attack and cannot closed down the opponent fast enough.
Look at the viet players...they know how to create open space for themselves, they passes are simple, short and accurate. And deadly.
Look at the spore players, they dont know how to create open space for themseles, they dont know how to make a simple, short and accurate pass among themselves. Total flop!!!!!
And where is our attackers???? Long ball also cannot. Short pass also cannot, what the hell is spore doing? And defenders worst! Time and again, they are chasing shadows!!
My rating:
1) goalkeeper : 7/10
2) defend : 3/10
3) midfield : 3/10
4) attack : 2/10
Total flopped.
Still that silly old coach still retain those players that cannot perform.

Also, spore should learn from the basic of football again.
Learn how to thread short and accurate passes.
Learn how to create open space for themselves.
Learn how to run and run and run for the loose balls.
Learn how to close down the oppenents in split second.
Learn the above before learning how to score.

In short, the viets wanted the victory more than the lions, and more so, on their home ground.
I think our keeper did well. Our defense did not give the assurance that it can handle the pacy viets and it just pulls everyone back.. even duric was back, trying to disrupt flow.
while it is easy to go after the "FTs", I think the local guys just can't cut it. The left/right backs didn't push hard enough to support the wingers, and when they were given clear grounds, their crosses were just pitiful. Given our Forward lines are at least a good half-head taller than the viets, surely, crosses are a vital part of the game.
on the whole, it seems tatically, technically, physically, and mentally, sgp lions just got out-thought, out-fought and were shooting for a draw. and it certainly did not help when mark commented that it was like a few hundred mins that lions can't manage to score against the viets.
well, when I was watching the lions vs the philippines, my helper (Maid) commented that her country sure lose, as they know nuts about soccer, well, they draw vs defending champion, sgp, won 2-0 vs 2nd place. they must be doing something right.
heck, such a shame. what next, more FTs into the team?

Not to say the imported players, even the locals also failed badly.
Look at times when the viet players can run towards the 16 yard area? Where is spore player? No body closing down at all?
Spore players are like robot or rather they love being spoon feed!
I bet putting a very ordinary team with several tens ranking balow spore, also can beat spore!
If that ordinary team able to thread short passes and run for the ball and fast, spore will be doom.
I dont care if pple over here criticise me or not.
That is my true heart word.

maybe, infused with some technical better players like the koreans/japs (turned PR turned citizens), cause these players are more technically sound, and seems to be physically stronger.
and maybe, FA just needs to do back to drawing board and starts from youth level..

No point to go boardroom and relook at their strategies.
Even the next AFF cup, spore team will also be like that.
Same style, cannot run, cannot do simple primary school passes, cannot attack and cannot defend.
In short, they are a clowns in the soccer team. Red clowns.
Talking about technical players, do we have any? Look at our import players....answer is NONE. And I am sure the coach should jolly well know this problem already.
Sack the coach and sack the players.
Or rather disband the whole team.

well, we can pool all resoures and train the YOG boys.. they did quite okay.
it is quite sad, that lions did so well in the 80s, and then, downhill.. even our locals are exiting the sleagues to the i-league.
btw, import players, why were david benett or sun jiayi not playing? banned?
