Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle is being lined up by Manchester United and Liverpool, respectively, with a view to becoming their manager should Sir Alex Ferguson retire or Roy Hodgson lose his job, according to a report in The Mirror.
Coyle – named Premier League manager of the month for November - joined Bolton from neighbours Burnley less than a year ago in January 2010.
Since then, Coyle has turned Bolton from relegation candidates into European challengers, as well as coaching them to play some of the most attractive football in the Premier League.
Bolton currently lie sixth in the table on 23 points and are the fourth highest scoring team in the league with 28 goals.
Chairman Phil Gartside said: “Our results and performances have improved greatly and that is a measure of Owen’s influence.
“We’ve virtually the same players that he inherited, but he’s got the best out of them, playing in a style that is attractive as well as effective.”
It is believed that many Bolton fans are resigned to losing Coyle at some point and are bracing themselves should Ferguson retire at the end of the season.

yes he would be a good choice, but I doubt it. He is born a catalan thru and thru, so why would he quit Barcelona and take over fergie when he retire.
even if he take charge of man united and quitted barcelona, he may not replicate the passing movement of barcelona to man united, as man united does not have the players barcelona have, like messi, iniesta and xavi. can carrick, fletcher or anderson passes as well as iniesta and xavi?
even if owen coyle has never won anything....i don't really think it's a big deal. Fergie himself won only a meagre cup winners cup before managing united.
Pep Guardiola...yes he has won everything at BArca..but wait first. Is he that gd that every1 claim him to be?....he inherit a very strong squad from his predecessor with the barca set up everything in very gd shape already..the core players in barca such as messi xavi iniesta puyol valdes, have been in Barca for quite a long time all from their youth set-up....But no doubt there's still work to be done for him to acheive so much. But i guess u guys get what i mean...the ability of a manager to build a team from nothing or scrap..jus like what wenger and ferguson could do with their teams.
So wait till guardiola can build his own team.....till then
I agree with it, the guy has only been in Barce all his short managerial career... He had the advantage there cos he spent many years with the club so he knew the players, the league, and their style... For all we know, he could be a one hit wonder like if he joins another club let alone another league, he may not be able to adapt...
Therefore, I don't think he would be a good choice at all. We don't want another Rafa do we? Especially not at Man United right?... lol.
seriously i am hoping for mourinho to manage man utd. cant imagine how it will be like!
