Keane on Robbie: Aston Villa re ready to rekindle their interest in the Republic of Ireland skipper
Out in the cold: Keane has struggled to get into the Tottenham first team this season
Aston Villa are ready to rekindle their interest in Tottenham striker Robbie Keane with a £6million bid in January.
The Republic of Ireland international has had a difficult time since his return to White Hart Lane following his ill-fated move to Liverpool and is eager for more game time.
However, manager Harry Redknapp wants to bring in another top striker who can lead the line and needs to offload players to help balance the books.
Keane has been a target in recent months for Newcastle, Celtic and Sunderland while Vancouver Whitecaps of America's MLS have also expressed interest in recent weeks.
Yet Tottenham's high valuation and his £75,000 per week wages have hindered any permanent deals.
Villa sense though that Tottenham may be finally willing to negotiate a reasonable fee and hope £6m can clinch a deal.
