Adam Johnson is said to be in Liverpool’s sights for a move from Manchester City in the January transfer window.
According to the Metro, the City midfielder has a big fan in Reds boss Roy Hodgson and would like him to help his club keep their recent and strong momentum going in the Premier League.
Just recently, Johnson told of his disillusionment at Eastlands, but then retracted his statements, dubbing it as a ‘moment of frustration’.
Nevertheless, the comments seem to have alerted Hodgson.
“Every footballer has to think about it when the time comes. It is still early but I definitely would consider [leaving],” Johnson stated.
Johnson identified the goalless and infamously uninspiring Manchester derby which took place earlier this month as a prime example of his irritation at City.
The 23-year-old was only brought on for closing 17 minutes of the game, but like most players involved from either side, failed to influence the outcome of the match up.
“It is disappointing when you are not playing from the start in games like that. I was itching to get on. I was dying to play from the start not just come on," he said.
“The manager has to make decisions but I was gutted to be left out.”
Hodgson does not have any say in determining transfer target.
The press is sprouting rubbish or Ah Roy forgot that some one else is doing that job.
But, the worry should be who want to leave Liverpool in Jan if Ah Roy is still the manager.

i have doubts about adam johnson.....u see those wingers like ronaldo, nani, giggs, figo.....they all made their mark when they were still teens. This guy is alrdy 23.
he got potential. he got the skills, no doubt. it is rare to see english players with his dribbling skills.
then why mancini dowan to use him? mancini was a great striker in his heydays.

The 23-year-old has previously admitted he was unhappy with making cameo appearances instead of starting on a regular basis for the Eastlands club.
However, despite the winger having since pledged his allegiance to City, News of the World claims Newcastle could move in to take the player on a loan deal.
It is thought the Tyneside club could look to play the midfielder with fellow young England international Andy Carroll.
Johnson signed with City during the previous winter transfer window.
That would be cool! See if he blossoms there. Like how welbeck is developing at sunderland.
