Dream woman: Cole is top of fellow Geordie Carroll's romantic wish list
Newcastle striker Andy Carroll has revealed he would love to play up front with Cheryl Cole.
The 21-year-old admitted he fancies his fellow Geordie and is keen for the chance to win over the X Factor judge and Girls Aloud star.
Cheryl, 27, is divorced from Chelsea and England defender Ashley Cole has been in Los Angeles with her friend Derek Hough recently as speculation mounts they are a couple.
But Carroll is refusing to be put off and told The Sun: 'Cheryl is my dream woman. With all she's been through I think what she really needs is to return to her roots and get herself a good down-to-earth Geordie boyfriend.
'If I can get her out for a dinner date I'm sure I could convince her I'm the one for her.'

Carroll has been earning rave reviews for his performances on the pitch and has been tipped for an England call-up to face France later this month. But he has also found himself on the front pages of the papers.
Carroll was recently arrested and bailed over accusations of attacking his teenage ex-girlfriend after she allegedly caught him having sex with another woman.

Sam Allardyce has warned Andy Carroll that he will have to get his priorities right if he wants to fulfil his dream of becoming an England striker.
The Blackburn manager, who had charge of Carroll at Newcastle, believes the target man has a bright future if he gets his life right off the pitch.
'He has to learn to make sacrifices in his private life,' said Allardyce.
'We all have mates who are important to us but he may have to choose his more carefully.
'It would be a terrible shame for him, for Newcastle and for England if he failed to get his priorities right.'

Carroll was convicted of an assault in a nightclub this year and had his Range Rover torched while staying with club captain Kevin Nolan as a bail condition for another alleged offence.
Claims surfaced of a training-ground clash with team-mate Steven Ttaylor after the defender's jaw was broken, and last night Carroll was facing new claims about his off-field behaviour.
Carroll is alleged to have gone on a 14-hour drinking binge with Nolan following Newcastle's 5-1 thrashing of rivals Sunderland last weekend and to have taken three women back to Nolan's house.
