Runaway Premier League leaders Chelsea have blitzed their way to five successive wins, hitting 21 goals and conceding one.
Some cynics believe that record is down to the quality of the opposition - Blackpool were their latest victims on Sunday.
But Malouda is relishing the next two league games with City and the Gunners.
The six-goal French winger, 30, said: "People don't believe what we've done so far has been great because they say we've had easy matches.
"So maybe these games will show we are ready for any kind of opposition.
"It could be an opportunity to prove we are the champions and will defend our title at any price."
City recorded a shock double over the Blues last season but Malouda said: "Those defeats could be an extra motivation for us.
"City have improved their squad. Our challenge is to win there - their players will see this as a chance to show they are ready to fight for the title."
Arsenal's 'Invincibles' went the 2003-04 season unbeaten. But Malouda said: "If we lose one game and become champions, I'd take that. We are not trying to copy Arsenal."
i dislike it when players talk big like this, whats the point if giving opponents extra motivation..
He has been the inspiration for Chelsea since the 2nd half of last season and the start of this... We can see why Joe had to leave... or he won't get much games with Malouda's current form...
I would rank him as their most important player right now...
2nd Drogba
3rd Essien
4th Cech
5th Lampard
I think Chelsea's test starts now, the first 5 games are just warm up to them. If they can get past City and Arsenal with the same ease as they did with the previous 5, then i'd say my money is on Chelsea retaining the throphy.
Last time

you are right.
ironically man city didnt play well in those 2 games.
Don't say this kind of thing...usually kena slap to the face one.
if they blitz man city and arsenal, then I would say they are truly on the right track. But I hope that smirk comes off his face this weekend heh heh.
City still haven't fully gel as a team and Arsenal, with so many injuries I don't think they can handle Chelsea at the Bridge... Cos without Robin van Persie and Bendtner... And likely without Fabregas and Walcott as well... I honestly can't see Arsenal getting anything there. The better bet would have to be on City i guess...
But Chelsea have been good so far, their attacking line is in good shape. The only really untested area must be their defence. Cos they have been coming up against weaker attacking sides. Therefore, City would at least provide a stronger test for them.
