The Football Association of Singapore (FAS) is launching an immediate investigation into a brawl which broke out in a Great Eastern-Yeo’s S-League match between the Young Lions and Beijing Guoan at the Jalan Besar Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The fight erupted in the 89th minute of the game, after Young Lions’ Afiq Yunos levelled the score at 1-1, as two separate fights broke out involving players and officials from both teams.
Two Young Lions players, Gabriel Quak and Abdul Hameed, were sent to hospital after they were injured in the brawl.
In a statement issued last night, the FAS said: “We take a serious view of this gross misconduct by the players and are conducting an investigation into this matter and the perpetrator will be dealt with severely.”
Football fans Yahoo! Singapore spoke to were shocked to hear about the incident.
Said student Galvin Ng, 18, “I never imagined a serious fight like this can happen in our local football game, it’s really embarrassing.”
Engineer Danny Lim, 32, agreed, but was not surprised the brawl involved Beijing Guoan. “I’ve heard about their players, and how they provoke opposing teams with their late tackles and I think it’s time for FAS to act on this guys,” he said.
The brawl forced referee Zaid Hussein to abandon the game minutes before the final whistle with the score at 1-1.

Yeah I saw this report this morning, too bad got no footage of the fight. But since it was played at the Jalan Besar Stadium, I think they should have. Did they show the match on tv?
Not shown on TV.
Jalan Besar Stadium happens to be the home ground of Young Lions.
But probably Youtube might have a video of the fight.

I came across Ass League but Ass Lick... lol.
Did some smart alec in FAS came up with it after hearing of the J League (Japan), the K League (Korea) and the A League (Australia)? How original... lol.
I think the FAS will soon have to think very hard on a new name cos the current one has been a joke for a few years already and now it sounds even more disgusting... lol.

Next Burnei DPMM FC
Actually I am just wondering why are they even here playing in the S League?
Are they being paid a lot?
Can't they get into a league in Beijing or some other parts of China?
I am not sure about other leagues, but is the S League the only one in the world to have foreign teams playing in it?
Of course is come here to bet lah. You think they earn alot of money meh, see their stadium so empty.... earn wat money...
at least Burnei DPMM is gd
wonder y SLEAGUE give china clubs to come here?
LOL... This year's Sleague getting worser and worser... Attendance goes anything like 700 - 1300 on average.... as compared to about 1,200 - 2,000 the year before.

Got 2 parts of disputes.
1. Guo An players started to fight with YL players when 2 of their players kena fouled.
2. Guo An fouled the YL players first. One of YL players went full the Guo An player shirt. Then Guo An started the dispute.....
