hi guys, followed this forum for quite sometime now, was just wondering where are the places you guys buy your diecast models from? kinda interested to start this hobby though, thanks in advance

Nikko at millenia walk or wheellock place sells AUTOart, Kyosho and Minichamps diecast models, along with some BBRs, CMCs, etc..
We usually buy our models frm Nikko Millenia Walk..
Then if they dont have the model you are looking for, you can try searching evilbay (ebay).. -
I get mine mostly from eBay because the ones I look for are rarely available as brand new in shops :p
I only got 2 or 3 ever from the shops here..
Not to say that the shops here are bad, in fact they offer very competitive pricing if u r looking for the brands HeXy has mentioned... -

haha thanks a lot, been doing a bit of ebay just now, was just wondering is there any distinct difference btwn AA and Kyosho 1/18 models? like maybe quality difference or detail level of any kind?

at 1st, i started with budget models eg maisto, hotwheel, then i change to AA,kyosho...in the blink of an eye i manage to amass 50++ models
IMO, i find tat kyosho appear to be more details than AA and amazingly their value grow much faster than AA.

let me contribute my 2 cents' worth.
Nikko sells AA, minichamps, kyosho, IXO, BBR... etc.
1. wheelock place (orchard mrt)
2. millenia walk (city hall mrt)
Toykar retail outlet the sole distributor of kyosho sells AA, hotwheels, bburago and of course kyosho.
1. forum the shopping mall (orchard mrt)
these are the main stores.
there is one named Motorsports, located at Meritus Mandarin Hotel which also sells AA, kyosho, hotwheels (elite)... etc.
apart from these, there are departmental stores like takashimaya, bhg (formerly seiyu), isetan, og... etc. they carry mainly more affordable brands like maisto, bburago, tomica, tamiya (model kits), nikko rc cars... etc.
you can also try yahoo! auctions. some of the collectors here, do post their 'for sale' models there to sell.
hope you have a clearer picture on where to get your desired scale models on this 'small red dot' called singapore!

i guess that is the so called model tourist attraction of singapore -
wow... looks like most of the diecast paradise is gathered in orchard road! should be easier coz no need to take MRT to here and there ya... kamsia very much for the help!
