Liverpool have had their ticket allocation for the forthcoming trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United slashed by almost a third
The match on February 11 is likely to see Luis Suarez, banned for eight matches after being found guilty of racially abusing United defender Patrice Evra, make his first appearance away from Anfield since his suspension.
Liverpool's Uruguay striker is certain to receive a hostile reception but there will be 1,000 fewer Reds fans - only 2,100 - inside Old Trafford to see it.
'The safety of all fans is paramount and a detailed risk assessment of the match carried out by Manchester United and agreed by their Safety Advisory Group which includes Greater Manchester Police and Trafford Council has resulted in Liverpool receiving a reduced allocation for this specific game,' said a statement on liverpoolfc.tv.'This was considered necessary to allow for additional stewarding and segregation plans.'
In October United's allocation for the reverse fixture was reduced from 3,015 to 1,965 after safety chiefs, in conjunction with Liverpool City Council, ruled the move necessary after previous problems with visiting fans standing in aisles and gangways. -

united need to win the match at old trafford, whatever the scoreline, even if it is a 1-0, 2-1 or 5-4 scoreline, 3 points is a must after last Sunday dropped 2 points. if united is to lose or draw, man city has the chance to pull clear to 5 points if they win.

DEFIANT ... Luis SuarezLUIS SUAREZ is still refusing to apologise for sparking the Patrice Evra race storm.
The Liverpool star got an eight-match ban after the FA found him guilty of abusing the Manchester United ace. But Suarez, who faces Evra at Old Trafford on Saturday, says the spat should have stayed on the pitch.
He said: "I was not depressed at all. I knew what I did and there is a kind of football law that says 'what happens on the pitch, stays on the pitch and that's the end of the story'."
Suarez, speaking on Radio Sport 890 in Uruguay, said: "I know against Man United it is going to be tense because I'm going to face Evra. But I'm used to having fans whistle at me. I hope nothing unusual happens. I'll have to forget what happened for that moment.
"I do know Man United fans are going to try to make me feel uncomfortable.
"But I have to tell them — they are going to spur me on if they whistle at me."

United boost as Cleverley set to return... but Jones and Smalling still out
Ready for action: Tom Cleverley has been out since October but is now fit
Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley is expected to return to action against Liverpool in the Barclays Premier League on Saturday.
The 22-year-old has not played since the win at Everton in October last year because of an ankle problem.
But he has trained well all week and was left out of Thursday's reserve defeat to Manchester City and should be on the bench at Old Trafford for Saturday's crunch clash.
Meanwhile, defenders Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are not expected to feature for United until next week’s Europa League clash at Ajax.

suarez is a racist bastard. that proves it with his refusal to shake hands. the whole of united players should not shake that bastard hand in the first place.
