DIMITAR BERBATOV could be on his way to Bayern Munich.
The German giants have contacted Manchester United and the player's representatives about buying the Bulgarian striker.
And they are set to bid £8million for Berbatov, 31 later this month, who is in the final year of his contract and free to talk to any interested clubs.
But United can activate a clause in his deal to keep him on for a further season.
Bundesliga leaders Bayern are desperate to land a new striker with Ivica Olic set to leave, though Berbatov's former club, Bayer Leverkusen, are also interested in signing him.
He has started just nine of United's 31 games this season and is fourth in the pecking order up front behind Wayne Rooney, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez.
Last season he was joint winner of the Golden Boot with 20 goals — but fell out of favour in the second half of the campaign as the Rooney-Hernandez partnership sparked into life.
Good for him to go...I am a Man United fan but never liked him anyway.Preferred someone in the mould of Patrick Kluivert.
