On the move: Pogba has failed to agree terms with Manchester United
Manchester United are set to lose one of their most promising youngsters with Paul Pogba ready to turn his back on the Old Trafford club.
The 18-year-old Frenchman is out of contract in the summer and is poised to open contract talks with Inter Milan.
According to the Daily Mirror, the Italian club are keen to land Pogba, who is held in high regard by United boss Sir Alex Ferguson.
Ferguson wants Pogba to sign a new deal, but the midfielder, who only joined United in 2009, when the Red Devils were accused of 'poaching' the player by his former club Le Havre, has failed to agree terms.
Pogba impressed after coming off the bench in United's otherwise poor Carling Cup quarter-final defeat to Crystal Palace earlier this month, and is available to speak to clubs from January.
Extended break: Fletcher faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines with a career-threatening health problem
Manchester City and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the youngster, but it's Inter Milan who look likeliest to land his signature.
The news will come as a blow to Ferguson who faces the second half of the season without Darren Fletcher, who is suffering with a career-threatening health problem while fellow midfielder Anderson is sidelined until February with a knee injury.
Take a page out of Barca/RM's book, attach buy back clauses when they get better.
When they are out of contract, you can't do that.
They did do so with Rossi but no point cos they don't need him back.
Pogba just did an interview and he's happy with United and wants to fight for a first team place apparently
its a pity if he leaves united. this boy has the potential to be as good as viera.

You always try to say things that won't bring you the boo...
If he or his agent plans to leave, they won't make his live there a living hell for now...
But I understand United still have tho option to extend his 6 month by another year from reports... He just wants a better offer or in other words, more money.

I am not sure about him cos I never see him play before but if he is as good as what Jacky says,United need a midfielder like him,can save the money to strengthen up the other areas like the left, right wing and the playmaker roles.Even the center backs need quality cover as well.
Sir Alex, what are you waiting for?Give him a new contract!Buy Gotze and Subotic on the way please. No overrated players like Bebe.
Nuri Sahin cost Real 8.7 million pounds from Dortmund.Mesut Ozil cost Real only 13 million pounds from Bremen.Manuel Neuer also cost 13 million pounds from Schalke to Bayern. What on earth is Sir Alex thinking when he did not move for them? Were his scouts in continental Europe sleeping on the job?If they don't move for Gotze.I will be borrowing a phrase from TPL...I dunno what to say!
I tell you...if Man United really want to conquer Europe and the world again, they got to really spend and buy young talents esp from South America and continental Europe.

one thing, players are tagged with a price tag, true, but when MUFC comes along, there are conditions.. whether they are rivals in UCL, some players don't like the EPL, the Manchester weather, they prefer london, etc etc.
I think while SA may be gold, but it would be better to develop given the big debt over MUFC's head. We won't want to see an implosion like Leeds United, right?
Till date, SAF has to a certain extent, being moderately successfully in introducing youths at the right time of their careers. so let's wait and see.
if this fella is really like a ronaldo-type-quality, that can't wait to explode on the EPL, he will play, but given the long wait, maybe, he is just not ready.
And sometimes, players are tagged to a famous star, and the added pressure just squeeze and magnify every error and just ruin the confidence.
Red alert! United could have a battle on their hands to keep hold of Morrison (left) and Pogba (right)
Manchester City could fuel the rivalry with United by snapping up two of their best up-and-coming youngsters Ravel Morrison and Paul Pogba.
Both Pogba and Morrison are out of contract at the end of season and City are best-placed if neither players agrees a new deal.
Pogba impressed after coming off the bench in United's otherwise poor Carling Cup quarter-final defeat to Crystal Palace last month, and is available to speak to clubs from January.
And while Morrison's off-field problems have remained a distraction, his performances on the pitch have impressed the club sufficiently to persist with the 18-year-old.
Although both would be deemed 'free' moves, United would be entitled to compensation for development costs because both players are under 24.
However, Sir Alex Ferguson wants to keep Morrison and Pogba and sees their inclusion in the first-team squad and Carling Cup ties as confirmation of this, according to the Daily Express.
Midfielder Pogba, 18, has been linked with a number of clubs including Italian giants Juventus.
But he was handed his Premier League debut in last night's victory over Stoke.
And Fergie is keen to ensure the Frenchman does not follow fellow starlet Ravel Morrison out of the Old Trafford exit door.
The United boss said: "Pogba did very well.
"The boy has great talent and tremendous physique for an 18-year-old. You can't believe it.
"We are negotiating his contract at the moment.
"It is a bit complicated at the moment because he has changed his agent a couple of times.
"But the boy wants to stay, that is obvious. Hopefully we can get it done soon."
offer him 30k a week for a 5 year contract, no point saying wants to stay with us or whatever. look at morrison, because united didnt offer him 30k, united have to sell him to west ham. what is 30k a week if he turn up to be a quality player in a few years time. I will be smacked if pogba also leaves united cos they didnt offer him 30k a week contract.
United would really regret it if he turns out to be a quality player for their domestic and European rivals.
just give him 30k a week for 5 years. he looks more skilful than morrison.
even if he doesnt fulfil his potential, united still can sell him away for a few million pounds.
Should insert a release clause into his contract like what RA and Barca does and still can sell him off for a decent sum if he really CMI.
On the Paul: Pogba made his Premier League debut against Stoke on the last day of January
Negotiating: Sir Alex is keen to tie Pogba down to a new deal
Paul Pogba's agent watched Juventus beat AC Milan 2-1 in the first leg of the Italian Cup semi-final on Wednesday, amid growing claims in Italy that the Manchester United midfielder will head for Turin when his contract expires at the end of the season.
The 18-year-old was introduced for his Barclays Premier League debut in United's win over Stoke late last month as Sir Alex Ferguson opted to give him some valuable experience.
It was a notable move on the day Ravel Morrison quit for West Ham and comes at a time when United are still trying to persuade Pogba to sign a new contract.
And the United boss confirmed talks were continuing and he was hopeful of a positive resolution.
'Pogba did very well,' Ferguson told the BBC after the game.
'The boy has great talent and tremendous physique for an 18-year-old. You can't believe it.
'We are negotiating his contract at the moment.
'It is a bit complicated at the moment because he has changed his agent a couple of times.
'But the boy wants to stay, that is obvious. Hopefully we can get it done soon.'

Sometimes it's not just about the money to the player, his agent may have something else line-up in mind and will try his best to move him on no matter what... Kickbacks to agents isn't an unknown thing.
Anyway, for Morrison, 30k is too much for someone who isn't even in the first team. 5 yrs is a very long time to be tie down to a huge contract on a player whose potential is still unknown. The club must be prudent, there are many potential youngsters every year, if you are going to give in to one's demand now, what are the chances the rest of the so called potential youngsters will take this as a green light to ask for the same?
Rafael and Fabio were on really low wages when they first arrived. I kind of recalled they were on thousand plus a week and when they improve and made it to the first team, they were offered new deals at 6k per week... Today perhaps a little higher but still under $30k. Of course they are from S America so maybe a little cheaper but $30k + 5 yrs for an unproven youngster is too much. Whether he turns out good or not is no longer our problem. What we know is during his time with us, he still wasn't good enough to warrant that sum. But playing with average players week in, week out won't do his career any good in my opinion.
And my personally view on both players, Pogba may be a loss, Morrison isn't... But we still are not sure what Pogba's agent is demanding though...
Then give him a new contact to end the wrangle lah.
In demand: Chelsea are among a host of clubs interested in Pogba
Chelsea have entered the race to sign Manchester United youngster Paul Pogba.
The 18-year-old French midfielder was heavily linked with both Juventus and fierce rivals Manchester City in the transfer window after contract talks with the Old Trafford club stalled.
Pogba has made several substitute appearances for the first team and was in the squad for United's 2-1 win over Liverpool at the weekend.
He also scored the winner for the reserves against Bolton on Tuesday - a display watched by the Blues.
On the move: Pogba has stalled over a new contract at United
Sir Alex Ferguson, a keen admirer of the Frenchman, is prepared to give the highly-rated midfielder a raise if he commits to the Premier League champions.
But according to the Daily Mirror, Pogba is demanding a one-off figure in the region of £3million to secure his signature, with Chelsea ready to pay the fee.
Speaking on Tuesday, the 18-year-old believes he is improving all the time at United.
'It's very good,' he told MUTV. 'Just to train with the talented players, top-class players, and improve and get more experience.
'When I'm on the bench, I just watch and want to play with them and get involved. Like against Liverpool, it was a great chance for me to be on the bench.
'I hope I will come on and do my best and show everyone what I can do.'
hope he signs with united for the long term. else it will be a waste of time and effort if he joins other club other than united.
Yeah but if we have to lose him,I rathered he go back to the Continent instead of signing for our rivals.
well, even if he does a John Obi Mikel, there is no guarantee that he will excel given the turmoils Chelsea is facing...
