EPL Game 06
Manchester United :
De Gea, Ferdinand, Smalling, Evans, Jones, Fabio, Evra, Nani, Fletcher, Park, Carrick, Berbatov, Young, Anderson, Giggs, Valencia, Hernandez , Welbeck, Macheda, Diouf, Lindegaard.
Out - Rafael, Vidic, Rooney, Gibson, Cleverley.
I dun think 3 points is beyond united at old trafford against norwich despite the injuries mounting. anything less than 3 points is disastrous.
Boost: Wayne Rooney is set to feature against Norwich on Saturday
Wayne Rooney will confirm his availability for England's Euro 2012 qualifier in Montenegro next Friday night by returning to Manchester United's squad against Norwich at Old Trafford on Saturday.
The striker has missed the last two games with a hamstring strain, but both Rooney and Javier Hernandez - who suffered a dead leg at Stoke last weekend - have been declared fit.
Rooney might start on the bench with Sir Alex Ferguson giving Danny Welbeck another run-out. But Rooney's return is a major boost for club and country as England look to clinch qualification in Podgorica.
'Wayne and Javier Hernandez will be fit. They trained yesterday very well and I was pleased with that,' Ferguson said on Friday.
'Jonny Evans also comes back, hopefully that will help us in the defensive part as we're certainly changing the back four at the moment.'
After Rooney was injured in training before the match against Stoke City last weekend, Ferguson said the England striker could be out 'for a few weeks' but he has made a quicker than expected recovery as he bids to continue his fine start to the season which has brought nine goals so far.
Ferguson believes Rooney's partnership with Hernandez could better the 52-goal total shared between Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke when United won the Treble in 1998-99.
'I hope that but it's a tough league,' said the United manager. 'They haven't played a full season together but the goal threat is immense. I expect Hernandez to score 25 and Wayne has had a fantastic start.'

Ferguson blamed a shaky defence rather than a weak in attack for United throwing away a two-goal lead to trail 3-2 before Ashley Young's last-gasp equaliser on Tuesday night.
Ferguson said his team had been rather 'cavalier' in their approach and needed to tighten up.
'People say our performance was careless and we under-estimated our opponents and maybe there's an element of truth in that,' he said.
'I certainly wasn't happy, even in the first half I could sense we were too relaxed and could have lost three goals in the first half.
'We could have scored goals as well but were too cavalier. We're attacking in the way we're playing at the moment and people can enjoy it but we have to do better defensively.'
Unbeaten United have scored 22 goals in six league games so far.
De Gea is in the bench and ashley young is not even on the bench. united have problems breaking down Norwich. chances have been few and far between. maybe its the midweek CL exertions I dunno.
don't know if it's just me, but i feel that since fletcher came back in to the team, they have not really played as cohesively as the beginning of the season when cleverley and anderson played together in centre midfield.
united central midfield been the same people, except for cleverley this season, which is a welcome change., but then truth be told, the united crop of midfielders are not world beaters like Barcelona or RM. United badly needed a creative midfielder to pull the strings from midfield.
norwich missed a chance to score before united scored. united really play really awful today, bad performance at OT. must be the worst performance of the season at home.
If De Gea really cannot make it, then Lindegard is also not no 1 material either.
wellbeck the sub scored in the 86 min. norwich has a few chances to score, including hitting the woodwork. I am utterly not impressed with this performance, worst performance so far at home. maybe its the midweek CL exertions.
19th consecutive home win!
actually its a lucky win. norwich should have scored at least 2 goals. what an escape with a win and a clean sheet.
nah
you know that at OT as long as the game is still 0-0 at around 70mins
United will get the winner.
thats why its call OT.
Anderson was lost the entire game.....unsure of how to make those incisive passes. Jones looks out of position at times, Evans too. Nani not on form, Rooney wasteful, fletcher almost non-existent, hernandez not getting on the end of crosses, valencia made a major defensive error...evra not making any desirable crosses or passes.......hahaha the list goes on.
It should have been a draw. I think a few seasons are more than enough to judge players. Anderson, fletcher, evra, evans etc should go.

i agree with u except with Anderson... sometimes he is simply amazing in midfield, sometimes he is completely zzzzzzz. So i dunno whether he should go or not.
That time vs Liverpool Anderson single handedly kept Gerard quiet for the whole game and showing him how it's done.

I will take any win, whether its due to luck.
Remember that year when Arsenal went though the entire season with no defeats? Actually they came very close on losing on some occasions and they needed luck to pull a draw or a win.
So, doesnt matter United played badly or not, a win is a win. Any United fans will take it on any day.
Well, it's still a good win but United's defence must improve cos their next 2 matches is against Liverpool away and City at home...
United need Vidic back asap or at least Smalling as Evans isn't very comforting and Valencia covering the right-back spot is kind of playing out of position for me...
If no Vidic but got Smalling also will help as Smalling and Rio in the centre and Jones on the right-back will be good enough i belief.
I find Jones's positioning in the centre-back isn't as good as Smalling's... Sometimes he leave his centre-back position and he doesn't get back in leaving Rio or whoever partner him alone... Yesterday there was one incident where he did it again and Evans was alone... Jones just stop running after the centre circle waiting for the ball to come back to start another attack but he fail to realise should Evans fail to win the tackle and instead foul the Norwich striker, he would be deem as the 'last man' and could get send-off for it... If Jones just kept his run back beyond the level of Evans, even if he foul the striker it wouldn't be in danger of a sending off offence...
Nevertheless, Jones is a great buy but he just need to learn from experienced i guess...
To be honest, of the 3 purchases for this season, I still can't make up my mind who is the best buy cos all 3 are great additions... De Gea started a little slow but he has since done well... Young seems like he has been a United player for years... and Jones energy and enthusiasm is just so compelling...
Lindegaard looked ok last night but wasn't really tested. Should bring him on again when qualification is almost assured in the UCL group stages. He could be another of those great buys.
Always suspected that this paul lambert is the one of borrusia dortmund fame and it really is!! hahaha. How time has flown and he looks meatier now with specs. Was one of those better British midfielders in the 90s.

Anderson has shown flashes of brilliance in a higher frequency this season lol. If you notice, this guy is prone to errors, be it concentration or misplaced passes.
Anderson performance is his inconsistency. it is easier to perform well when you are playing against the best, but when you play against average teams, your performance is average. anyway he should not rush his passes so quickly, as most of the time, he pass it to the opponents. want to pass, pass it accurately. no use if the pass went to the opponent and you have to restart the attack once you get back the ball.
its a good 2 weeks of international break so that vidic, cleverley and smalling are able to make their comeback against liverpool.
Sir Alex has explained why David De Gea and Ashley Young did not feature in the 2-0 win against Norwich.
The Reds' No1 was left out in favour of Anders Lindegaard, who made his Barclays Premier League debut, while winger Young did not make the bench but should be fit to represent England in the crunch Euro 2012 qualifier in Montenegro next Friday.
"It was an opportunity to play Anders because he doesn't have a game for two weeks," the boss revealed to MUTV. "He goes away with Denmark but he’s not in the team whereas David's got two games with Spain's Under-21s. So it was a good opportunity to give Anders a turn.
"Ashley got a little knock and it wasn't worth risking him because of the games we've got coming up, including Liverpool in two weeks' time. There are internationals of course but I think he'll be okay for England, he should be alright. He just wasn't right today."

Noor-rich?
watched the replay last monday.. MUFC is not as bad as some made them out.
Jones is young, and a hothead, and his occassionally drive into the box, must be picked up by SAF. But given he is doing it, means SAF doesn't feel the needs to stop it. Actually, his cross from RB position also quite good, if only welbeck can reach it..
one thing about the GK, he got luck man.. the ball deflected off anderson, and off the post, and everyone is about to shout "goal" and it bounced clear. Sometimes, GK needs that..
Evans is quite solid, he doesn't have the spotlight, but he is doing his own business the quiet way. But against someone like Jones or Smalling, who are in the spotlight, he gets marganlised.
Read Fletcher is down again, hopefully, he can recover well.
