Bus-ted: Anders Lindegaard over-slept and missed Man United's team bus
Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard is facing a hefty fine after sleeping in following their Champions League final after-party and missing the club's return from London.
Staff at United's London hotel, The Landmark, had scheduled post-match drinks and 'chill-out' rooms for the players following their 3-1 defeat to Barcelona on Saturday night.
The muted party, attended by around 300 people, went on into the early hours but United's squad were up and ready to leave the Marylebone Road hotel at noon on Sunday.
However, as they got on their coach ahead of the short trip to Euston train station, club staff noticed Lindegaard was missing from the group.
Instead of waiting for the Danish goalkeeper, an unimpressed Sir Alex Ferguson told the bus to leave so they could catch their scheduled return to Manchester at 1pm.
Team-mates tried to contact Lindegaard but it is understood he didn't wake until around 2.30pm when the train was approaching Crewe.
The 27-year-old was on the bus for Monday's title-winning parade around Manchester but cut a miserable figure.
The Denmark international only joined United in November for £3.5million and has figured in just two FA Cup ties against Southampton and Crawley.
He needed knee surgery in March which kept him out for five weeks and did not make the final squad on Saturday with Tomasz Kuszczak making the bench instead.
