PAY WRANGLE ... Utd winger Nani...MANCHESTER UNITED are facing a battle to keep star winger Nani..The Portuguese flier, surprisingly fit for tonight's Champions League clash with Marseille, wants to discuss a new contract and wage rise on the back of his sparkling season.
But that has already been rejected and Nani, 24, has already told close friends he is considering a new challenge.
He is just a year into a new four-year contract signed last March.
That raised his wages to around £65,000 at a time when he was nowhere near as influential as he is now.
The player's representatives now believe he should be among the top-paid players at the club.They would not expect him to get the £250,000 a week Wayne Rooney earns, but nearer the £100,000 the likes of Dimitar Berbatov pick up.
But the club have told Nani's people there is no way they will be renegotiating with three years left on his current deal.
Nani, who has quickly recovered from a badly gashed leg, has told friends he is interested in a move to Italy while Real Madrid have long admired him and would also be interested.

Everyone does it... Vidic, Evra, Rio, Rooney even Ah Brown... They have to fight for what they want... Gone are the ones like Giggs, Scholes, Neville, O'Shea... Happy to stay and accept whenever and whatever the club offer them.

It took Nani like 3-4 years to get to where he is now, so I doubt Fergie would entertain his request. Unless the signs of Fergie's retirement is fast in motion.

To be honest, clubs are the ones that dictate your worth. Your worth is as much as your club pays you. If he thinks he is more than that, feel free to leave.
I hope he does not forget how Ferguson actually took all that shit to keep him for so long just so he can finally prosper.

Paying more than 65m GBP for Nani? I won't though and he is free to leave and I feel getting Pedro Leon might be more better.

Manchester United winger Nani has denied that he is considering leaving the club in order to continue his career in Italy.
The Guardian reported on Tuesday morning that Nani has spoken to his family and agent Jorge Mendes to explore the possibility of joining a Serie A club, potentially as early as this summer.
The loss of Nani would be a substantial blow to United given he has enjoyed a superb season in the Premier League, scoring nine goals and claiming 13 assists for the league leaders.
However, Nani took to Twitter on Tuesday afternoon to inform his 100,000+ followers that he is not hoping to leave Old Trafford.
"I've seen some false reports on the press," Nani wrote. "I want you to know that you will hear the truth from me. Love MU."
Nani joined United from Sporting Lisbon in 2007 and signed a new four-year contract last season.
He has been declared fit to face Marseille in the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie on Tuesday night after recovering from a gashed leg sustained following a tackle from Liverpool's Jamie Carragher.Oh well... the truth is somewhere out there~
