SIR ALEX Ferguson is set to wield the axe on Manchester United flops Bebe and Gabriel Obertan.
Fergie was left fuming with the duo in the wake of United’s woeful FA Cup win over non-league Crawley at Old Trafford.
United avoided the biggest shock in their history to scrape throughfirst half header. But the result left Fergie seething and he tore into his stars after the final whistle.
Now he looks set to give Bebe and Obertan the boot at the end of the season after deciding they are not fit to wear the United shirt.
Fergie said: “It was a terrible performance from us in the second half. Some players came in and didn’t do themselves justice, no doubt about that.
“In the second half, we weren’t at the races and it was disappointing.
“We might have some players who don’t understand what the FA Cup is all about. That is the biggest lesson for them.”
Absolutely, plus give a call to carlos querioz too for his "good" recommendation.
I have already said, Obertan reminded me of David Bellion, all pace and little skills. as for Bebe, he has none, which is even worse.
Thumbs up on this. I'd rather see Gibson slog it out on the wings than see Bebe cross without even looking. His idea of crossing is whacking the ball sideways, hoping a United player can be there to meet his cross instead of picking out his target.
Mourinho rivals Manchester clubs for Rodwell
Jose Mourinho has instructed Real Madrid spies to compile a dossier on Everton starlet Jack Rodwell. Sportsmail revealed last week that Manchester United are preparing a £15million bid for the versatile 19-year-old, while Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Rodwell. But the Manchester clubs are set to be joined by Real in the race after Mourinho’s intervention. The Spanish giants have kept an eye on Rodwell since he impressed in England’s run to the European Under 21 Championships final in 2009. Mourinho is poised to reignite the Bernabeu club’s interest after asking scouts to update him on Rodwell’s progress. Everton’s tight finances are making it increasingly difficult for the Merseyside club to hold on to their prized assets and it is looking increasingly likely they will listen to offers for Rodwell in the summer. Sportsmail understands a switch to Old Trafford is Rodwell’s preferred choice should he leave Goodison Park. Rodwell, who can play in central midfield or at centre back, came through Everton’s youth set-up and has a strong affiliation with the club. However, he is unwilling to let emotional attachments stand in the way of a move that he feels would progress his career.

The Guardian claims that Anderson will miss the next two months of United's season after injuring medial knee ligaments against Crawley Town. The report adds that Ji-sung Park and Antonio Valencia are roughly three weeks away from a return. In further injury news, The Mirror says Rio Ferdinand will not feature in Wednesday's clash with Marseille, and is a doubt to face Wigan on Saturday.
