Giovanni Trapattoni has set himself up for a potential clash with Sir Alex Ferguson by suggesting that Darron Gibson would be better served leaving Manchester United.
Gibson is viewed as a key component for the future of Republic of Ireland football by manager Trapattoni and Gibson claimed his first goal for his country with a stunning effort against Wales on Tuesday evening.
Trapattoni wants to see Gibson fulfil his potential, but believes that will only happen by playing regular football and is concerned that may not happen at Old Trafford.
"He can do more," Trapattoni said. "He has big potential. If I was Gibson I would go to another group where I always play. With this you can build.
"Manchester is Manchester and it is an important club, but sometimes the young players need to play, play, play. It gives them confidence."
how many times does he fail to live in midfield expectation? haiz...
Thanks for the advice Trappattoni! Looks like it will hasten his Old Trafford exit. Thumbs Up!
i think expectations <> his potentials, cause the balance is really heavy on the "expectations" side.

Not really. Look at Ronaldo, an 80m price tag on his head and yet he is still doing well at Real Madrid. It's 80m bro, how many people need to work their entire life just to reach probably 1/80 (aka 1m) of that amount?
Gibson showed great promise last season and the season before, banging in long range shots but thats about it. There's no creative influence in his play. Unless he plays like Lampard I wouldn't mind la.
ba...and he run like 40yr old..Bo engery..anderson better...
although gibson has strong long shot...but..only that one..not enough to make into Man Utd team..
He's got the energy and power in his shot, but he can't pass for nuts!
