Haha thanks!
From the above posts i thought carrick's ridiculous back header set up the goal.
Amazing goal worthy of winning the match...
A Great result today... Honestly, I thought United would drop at least 2 points today or maybe even 3 possible...
Phew... They got all 3 points and City's title chase is at least... A little further away for now. Only Arsenal are serious contenders at the moment...

no lari mean for man city to survive at 3rd spot
its either city or chelsea that will finish 3rd lor. it is unthinkable if spurs is to pip chelsea or city for 4th place.

Smalling is my MOTM.
Performed above expectations. Put in some good blocks and tackles too.
Hopefully he'll keep this up.

Manchester United matchwinner Wayne Rooney on THAT goal, his superb overhead kick that won the Manchester derby: "I think it's the best goal I've ever scored, I saw it coming over and I thought, why not? I was just delighted to see it go in the net and get the three points. Nine times out of 10 they go into the stand… it's the first overhead kick I've scored since turning professional."
The battle for 3rd and 4th is going to be very interesting... Most likely between Chelsea, City and Spurs...
Chelsea still need to play City, Spurs and United at least all at home... And another against United at OT.
Spurs on the other hand have to play Arsenal, City, Chelsea and Liverpool... All away matches only Arsenal they are at home...
City... Got away matches to United which they just lost... Chelsea and Liverpool and at home to Spurs...

Eh , what about Liverpool?
As at this point in time, LIverpool is 1-0 up against Wigan - scored by red hot Meireles.
Goal of the season: Wayne Rooney shapes to score the overhead kick that earned Manchester United victory against local rivals City
Wayne Rooney's sensational 77th minute overhead kick gave Manchester United the derby spoils against City at Old Trafford.
The Blues had the better of the game but trailed to Nani's first-half opener. David Silva's deflected effort looked as though it would get them at least a point until Rooney - putting recent woes behind him - finished Nani's cross with a quite staggering overhead kick to leave United eight points ahead of their rivals with a match in hand.
More to follow...

Still very far from it when they have away matches to Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal still to play... And not to forget Chelsea another time at OT.
I still belief they must have at least 5 to 7 points lead going into March to be in a good position to win it this year...
Cos just look at the above matches... 4 games and if they can get 6 points for there, that would mean 6 points drop... And their current lead is only 4 points. So not enough.
Fergie standard strategy when playing against City is to play the players who have been with United for a while and who were promoted from the youth team. There's always the fire in these players' eyes when playing against City.
O'Shea starts before Rafael, played unbelievably well only against City, Fletcher puts in a double shift to run the engine, Scholes and Giggs, needless to say, play well beyond their age.
Even young ones like Smalling and Anderson got affected by their teammates' fighting spirit, gave their all and did well, especially Smalling, who hardly put a foot wrong throughout the match, he's a natural replacement for Rio.
Nani, for me, is the Man of the Match. However, had he be less selfish, United would have won the game before City would equalise.
Glory Glory Man United. Tevez should just retire.
I think man city played slightly better :) Scholes looked shaky last night and rooney's performance was forgettable if not for his moment of brilliance. That for me was the goal of the decade. Curling fast paced cross, he had to turn his body to hit the ball with his boot at the correct angle and power; only people like van basten could have done that.
On a side note, good thing tevez was shut out hehe.
But question is why berba was on the bench? And i think o'shea was out there because of his big match experience. Rafael might have gotten two yellows ha.

come on dude, wax some lyrical about rooney's goal to to show you're not some clone posing in man utd's fan colours.
His overhead kick must surely be your goal of the century?
