EPL: Owen Hargreaves, Fulham - Manchester United
Manchester United are reportedly not prepared to offer midfielder Owen Hargreaves a new contract and could opt to pay him per match from next season.
The 29-year-old whose four–year contract will expire in May has only featured on the United teamsheet 18 times since he moved to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich in 2007 for £17 million.
He has been plagued by a knee problem ever since and had to be substituted only 10 minutes into his return game against Wolves at home in November.
Hargreaves was seemingly considering retirement but according to the News of the World, the Red Devils could make a deal which will see £15,000 fall into his pockets for every match he plays, excluding all bonuses.
The midfielder has visited specialist knee surgeons in Colorado, Stockholm and London in his quest for a sustainable solution to his knee problem but still has yet to find one.
