Manchester United are set to launch a January bid for Real Madrid midfielder Lassana Diarra, reports from Spain suggest.
The former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder has had his appearances for Los Blancos limited by the form of Xabi Alonso and Sami Khedira, and is thought to be looking for first team football away from the Santiago Bernabeu.
The Red Devils meanwhile are looking to add depth to their central area, with Owen Hargreaves perennially injured and Paul Scholes edging closer to retirement, and Diarra's power and physical approach have impressed Sir Alex Ferguson.
Publication AS comments that the English Premier League side have tabled a €12 million bid for the French international, and the Spanish giants may consider cashing in on Diarra in order to fund swoops for other targets.
Diarra moved to Madrid in January 2009 from Portsmouth for a fee of €19m.
But loyalty is not in this guy's dictionary leh. He's only 25 and had already played for 5 clubs! Looks like a Robbie Keane in making in terms of the number of clubs represented.

true, but he has not met someone like SAF mah.
If its true, why do we need another DMC when fletcher & carrick are in the team, maybe this diarra provides more bite and combative nature in his play that Hargreaves used to provide for the team. But i see a AMC as a more important aquitsition in the transfer market.
hmmm, some rumblings are heard, and this guy seems to have his head turned towards OT..
but given he was here in EPL and then left, meaning SAF did not buy when he could have... leaves me with a question mark leh..

There is absolutely no way that Fergie could have signed him when he was playing at EPL as he was with Chelsea and then Arsenal.
Maybe when he was at Pompey but Real Madrid paid £20m for this fellow! I doubt Fergie would risk spending that much money then after seeing how Carrick, Hargreaves, Anderson (then), Nani (then) and Berbatov (then) all fail to match their hefty price tags.
so old fart Fergie wants to eat Lasagna and then get Diarrhoea.............
