Manchester United are eyeing a January move for Spanish winger Joaquin from Valencia, according to reports in England.
TalkSport claims that United manager Sir Alex Ferguson was hoping to land the 29-year-old last year when Antonio Valencia got injured, and given his good form for los Che so far this campaign the Scot is ready to make another approach.
It's been reported that United will make a bid of €6.5 million to land the former Real Betis winger in January.

It's hard to be the same player as before the critical injury was sustained. Think about players like Alan Smith, Michael Owen and etc.
I think Fergie sort of hinting that Valencia might not be coming back as the same player, just like how he was so patient with Hargreaves but wasn't duly rewarded.
Joaquin is a wise choice: Cheap and Effective. But i highly doubt he will make the switch because of his age and his entire career is spent in Spain.
mu's recent policy seems to be buy young and inexpensive, developed and then perform in 1st team.
I think this guy could be a good temp and i suspect that Valencia might not be back till late March or even April even though earlier reports said he might be able to play by end of Feb... So whether he can come back as the same player, I belief he can but it's still a matter of when? Cos even with the best possible outcome in late Feb, he will still need probably a month or so to get back into full fitness and form after being out for so long and this is the best possible outcome... How about a medium or a worse case scenario? In late Mar or Apr? or next season? So I guess they might need a temp one for cover with more matches being played in the second half of the season and also within shorter days period...
fergie shoud go buy that chilean winger lar. he is much younger than Joaquin. spanish players dun like to live in a cold and raining climate. even if he join, he will miss home and leave for spain after a few seasons.

29 yrold...old liao leh. but 6.5million..hm..no other pple liao meh?
Got lah, players like Morten Gamst Pedersen also good, only don't know if the new Indian owners want to sell him for $5m or not...
Joaquin pitiful lah.............last time so expensive people want to buy him but he stay loyal to Valencia.........
now he like nobody liao..............what happened to him ah ??? not even in Spain national team liao..........
Spain dun use wingers now. they got pass masters like xavi and iniesta, so why do they need him to waste space in the squad?
