I thought the leaking of goals was confined to away matches, but no, liverpool almost snatched a draw at old trafford if not for Berbatov 84 min goal that clinched the win.
why has united keep conceding silly and unnecessary goals in the latter stages of the game. evans clearly is not rio replacement, as I can see Evans as being bit part player like O'Shea before, dun think he is rio long term replacement. The jury is still out on smalling. perhaps fergie need to go and spend big on rio's replacement if evans and smalling are not up to the task.
From my point of view, evans is good enough.
But he lacks in one department, experience.
His inexperience at handling diferent types of strikers at times leads to his naive defending. His inability to keep Zamora in his pocket has indirectly caused United the whole three points against Fulham, not that they deserved it though. United was irrepressible until they scored and from that point on, Fulham seem to run all over them.
United have an air of defensive vulnerability about them since last season and till this point, it hasn't been solved.
The fault of conceding late goals do not solely belong to the defenders. It belongs to the whole team. They must not lose concentration and take their foot of the gas until the final whistle is blown.
I admire Evan's willingness to run with the ball, hopefully he'll grow to become as good as his predecessor, a certain Gerard Pique ,who just scored against Aletico Madrid.
And regarding Smalling, i do have my reservations. I have not seen enough of him. In those short instances that i do see him play, he didn't impress me. Hopefuly, he is an astute buy that has yet to blossom.
