Why didnt Fergie go for these players when they were unknown

players like James Milner. fergie should have target Milner when he was at Newcastle. the same goes to Adam Johnson also when he was at boro.

i saw milner when he was younger and he was not good at that time. anyway now united got good players too.
i think gareth bale from spurs is excellent. he is in the similar mould as robben, nani, ronaldo and giggs who likes to take the ball past players on the wings.

lampard was very ordinary when he started out at west ham. Hard to tell actually. Some players just blossomed. Vieri played in Serie B even when he was early 20s. Then he was plucked out by Inter Milan and the rest is history.

gareth bale really good. From left back now become left wing, he fast and pacey also.

Yup, I read it too, Fergie actually tried asking Cantona to coax Zizou to Old Trafford because Zizou was keeping Cantona out of the French Squad. But alas, Real had the money and power to get whatever player they want.
