  I think United could edge Spurs in this one... Cos United isn't set-up like Chelsea where they don't have genuine wingers... So if Gareth Bale or Assou-Ekotto come out too often, they could get caught out by Valencia and Nani... And also, this match is at OT, Spurs won't have the huge supporters backing them like in their last 2 matches...

  Hopefully Rio will be fit for this cos it will help a lot having him back. His experienced and heading clearance will be important against Peter Crouch and Pavlyuchenko... And Rooney should be a lot better after a full week rest... I am guessing Berbatov will start this game as well...

  Finally, having said all that, Spurs do have Harry Redknapp... A manager who have given United problems over the years ever since his West Ham days and even till Portsmouth... And he will try to help his nephew Lampard as well not to mention Spurs 4th place ambition...

  Another 745pm game? Must catch!!! If win, can overtake Chelsea for the time being.

  OT atmosphere can help Man U win double against Spurs, somemore, Spurs away record is not so good (lost to Wolves, Sunderland etc....) They kena thrashed by Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal. The reason why Spurs won Arsenal and Chelsea was because they were at home ground.

  So, expect Man U knock Spurs back to the earth. Somemore, Man U won 3-1 in reverse fixture.

  DAWSON ISSUES WARNING TO UNITED

  

  
  
  

  Michael Dawson has warned Manchester United not to expect any more favours from Tottenham this season after helping them claw back ground in the Barclays Premier League title race.

  United are one point behind Chelsea thanks to Spurs defeating Carlo Ancelotti's men at White Hart Lane, three days after Harry Redknapp's looked to have ended Arsenal's title chances at the same venue.

  Spurs now travel to Old Trafford and need a result to maintain their challenge for Champions League qualification.

  Centre-back Dawson said: "We will go there and we have got no fear whatsoever. Six [points] out of six against Arsenal and Chelsea so we will go to Old Trafford full of confidence and with nothing to lose.

  "It is certainly going to be exciting, they did us a favour by beating City then we did them a favour. But we will go there next week, hopefully get something and be right in the mix.

  "We have got a fantastic squad here so I don't see why we cannot pick up points like we have done against the top teams. That is what we are striving for and certainly over the past five days we have proved a few people wrong."

  Dawson insists there is more steel in the Spurs squad compared to 2006 when they came close to finishing in the top four.

  "I have certainly been there before as have a few of the other lads," Dawson said.

  "It was devastating the way we lost at West Ham on the last day of the season and missed out fourth spot. The lads all want to play in the Champions League, it is as simple as that.

  "If we keep putting performances in like the Chelsea win and like we did on Wednesday, I don't see why not. We have got some big games as have the other teams in and around us so it is an exciting finish."

  Peter Crouch almost missed the Chelsea victory with a virus but is hoping to be at full-tilt to face United.

  Crouch said: "I was lucky to be on the bench against Chelsea, I didn't train on Friday and stayed at home.

  "If we can get into the Champions League it will be a huge achievement. If we can do that and build on it that would be great. You've got to stay there. I've been fortunate to play in it and it's the best competition in the world.

  "A club like this deserves to be there and hopefully we can get there and then obviously the top clubs have the consistency to stay there and we need to do that."

  Still rem a few years back, when MU was losing 3-0 to Spurs, and eventually won 5-3 or something..

  SPurs is on form, and as per football focus, balanced in all dept, so a hard game for United.

  THIS weekend's Premier League fixtures will be some of the most important of the season.

  With the title, Champions League qualification and relegation all in the balance, players and managers will come under intense scrutiny.

  Selection, tactics, performance and every decision made during games will have an effect on the success and failure of each club.

  Tens of millions of pounds, people's jobs and the hopes and dreams of hundreds of thousands of fans are at stake.

  But for the men in the middle who take charge of the matches, even if they have a stinker the worst that can happen is they will get a slap on the wrist.

  Take Mike Dean for example. His failure to award penalties (one to each side) in the match between Manchester United and Chelsea three weeks ago was dreadful.

  Dean then allowed Didier Drogba's offside winner to stand, His punishment? He was sent to referee in the Championship the following weekend where his fee was slightly less.

  He must have done well though as he is back in the big league this Saturday in charge of Arsenal v Manchester City - a game which has huge significance in the Champions League race.

  Dean didn't make any comment to try to justify his blunders at Old Trafford and no one at the Professional Game Match Officials (PGMO) board has explained his re-emergence this weekend.

  But it is exactly that lack of accountability which will be the subject of a Premier League review this summer.

  Several clubs intend to raise the issue of match officials at the Premier League's AGM in a bid to raise standards before next season.

  And one of the issues up for discussion will be referees being obliged to do a post-match Press conference as well as more stringent punishment for bad performances.

  As one Premier League manager said: "If I make bad decisions then ultimately it will cost me my job but if a referee does the same all he gets is a weekend in Watford."

   

   

  

  Steven Gerrard could be punished after appearing to flash a V-sign at ref Andre Marriner during Liverpool’s defeat at Wigan

   

  Andre Marriner has been appointed to Saturday's Manchester United v Tottenham clash at Old Trafford.

  It's an interesting choice given that Marriner felt the full fury of Alex Ferguson after three controversial incidents during United's defeat at Liverpool last October.

  Fergie accused the official of being influenced by the Anfield crowd in his failure to award United a penalty and send off Jamie Carragher.

  Then last month Marriner decided not to dismiss Steven Gerrard for flicking a V-sign at him, which would have seen the Reds skipper banned for the return at Old Trafford.

  Yet referees' chief Mike Riley decided Marriner should ref a game which will have a massive say in both the title and race for fourth.

  Of course, if officials weren't considered for games based on the criticism of a manager, United would struggle to fulfil their fixture list.

  However, the point is still valid that sending a ref to a ground where he has recent 'history' is putting the official under extra pressure.

  Some people said Bale was world class against Chelsea... Well, I do hope for this match he will try to come out more often cos i notice Chelsea didn't have an effective right winger to trouble him all match. But United will have Valencia or Nani. So if he leave his position open, United could punish them. 

  Valencia and Nani can run free into the Spurs backline and send in dangerous crosses into the box.

  Fergie, for christ's sakes, please don't put Gary Neville and Darren Gibson in the starting line up like you did in the match against City. Neville will be wtfpwnzored by Bale and Valencia/Nani most definitely need to run back to help him out, rendering the right wing ineffective in attack. Give Rafael the chance to play. Darren Gibson is simply crap. I don't know why Fergie keeps playing him. I don't see anything in him other than the odd spectacular long range effort. He can't tackle, he can't string passes and spread play effectively in the middle of the park.
